Inside Enserva’s Stars & Spurs Cowboy Candy Shoppe

Inside Enserva’s Stars & Spurs Cowboy Candy Shoppe

Not every candy buffet needs a table. For Enserva’s Stars & Spurs Gala, we took things in a completely different direction, creating something guests could walk through, explore, and experience.

What started as a candy setup quickly turned into what we lovingly called a “Cowboy Homesense” moment. Styled, layered, and packed with personality, this was not just a buffet; it was a full-on interactive candy shoppe.

The Challenge: Rethink the Traditional Buffet

After already delivering a full-scale buffet for the same event, the goal here was to do something completely different. No standard tables, no glass jars, no expected layout. This needed to feel immersive and nostalgic, and be styled enough to serve as a focal point in a busy gala environment.

The Sugar-Fueled Solution

We built this candy experience from the ground up, focusing on texture, layout, and interaction:

  • No-table setup: Instead of a traditional buffet table, we used custom wooden candy carts and eclectic shelving to create a multi-level, walk-up experience that felt like an old-time candy shop.
  • Textured, western-style accents: Crates, burlap, cowboy boots, candles, and woven baskets replaced our usual glassware, bringing warmth and authenticity to the setup.
  • Open basket display: Large woven baskets on the carts and smaller ones on the shelves created an approachable, interactive feel, inviting guests to browse and explore.
  • Enhanced for replenishment: A hidden table behind the display let us store extra candy and restock seamlessly throughout the evening, keeping the experience full and flowing from start to finish.
  • Built for flow: Pre-made candy bags were included for quick grab-and-go moments, making it easy for guests to enjoy the experience without creating bottlenecks at the table and, of course, to snag something for kids at home!

Why It Works

  • Unexpected format: Removing the table instantly made the setup feel unique and memorable.
  • Interactive experience: Guests could move through the display, making it feel more like an activity than a stop.
  • Strong visual identity: The mix of textures and styling created a cohesive Western candy shoppe that stood out in the space.

The Takeaway

Enserva’s cowboy candy shoppe proves that breaking the “rules” of a traditional buffet can create something even more impactful. When you combine strong styling with thoughtful layout, you turn a candy table into an experience people talk about.

✨ Steal This Look: Enserva’s Cowboy Candy Shoppe

Want to recreate this immersive candy moment? Here’s how Enserva did it:

  • Ditch the table: Use carts, shelving, or unexpected structures to create movement and dimension.
  • Swap glass for texture: Woven baskets, crates, and fabric add warmth and make the setup feel more approachable.
  • Designed for interaction: Create a layout that guests can walk through and explore, rather than just a table to stand at.
  • Lean into nostalgia: Swedish fish, blue whales, cola bottles, fuzzy peaches, hot lips, and gummy bears brought a familiar, playful energy to the experience.
  • Plan for flow: Keep extra inventory nearby so you can restock easily and keep the display looking full all night.
  • Consider guest flow: Pre-made bags keep things moving and make the experience accessible for everyone.
