Alyssa, a spirited candy enthusiast and savvy entrepreneur, founded The Sugar Cube in 2013, morphing her childhood passion into a flourishing business. Her love for candy was ignited during the summers spent at her family's candy store on Manitoulin Island. It was sweetened further by her extensive travels during university, where she discovered unique and high-quality candies worldwide. After earning her BCom with a focus on marketing from the U of C, Alyssa melded her passion for sweets and aptitude in marketing, establishing The Sugar Cube as a food truck.
It has since evolved into a beloved Calgary staple renowned for its Candy Buffets, Cotton Candy Carts, Custom Favours, and an online store serving customers all over Canada. With a decade of sweet success, Alyssa continues her mission to source the freshest and most delightful sweets, including allergen-friendly options, ensuring a little something for every sweet tooth.
Kayla keeps The Sugar Cube running smoothly as the one in command of our warehouse, making sure every sweet detail is packed, prepped, and ready to roll. When she’s not managing the behind-the-scenes magic, you’ll find her gaming, sketching, or floating down the river on a sunny day. A fall-loving Halloween enthusiast, she has a soft spot for cozy, spooky vibes (but don’t even mention spiders!).
She’s a mix of fandom fangirl (Pierce the Veil and Sabrina Carpenter on the same playlist? Yes, please), Family Feud devotee, and unapologetic Bridgerton re-watcher. At home, she’s happily greeted by her tuxedo cat, Salem, who’s always ready for attention.

Sarah is a proud mom, wife, and lifelong fandom nerd who can talk Buffy, Supernatural, or Doctor Who with the best of them. A roller skating enthusiast (though she’ll admit she doesn’t get out on the wheels nearly as much as she’d like), she’s equally at home geeking out over pop culture or soaking up the view from a rooftop patio.

Jazmine keeps our sales team running smoothly as our go-to Sales Admin, working alongside Alyssa to bring your corporate branding and show-stopping gift ideas to life. She makes sure the details sparkle just as much as the candy, all while keeping things organized and fun.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find her in the garden, getting crafty, or curled up with a good book. A summer-and-fall kind of girl, she’s happiest in the sunshine and never says no to Mediterranean food or a double espresso. She’s a Gilmore Girls loyalist, a Family Feud fan, and can jump from Taylor Swift to Billie Eilish on her playlists without missing a beat. Ironically, her biggest phobia is sticky fingers, even though she works in the world of candy every day.
