Hourly Wage: $16 - $20 per hour, based on experience and skill sets

💥 Schedule: This is a part-time role that is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday during daytime working hours, with flexibility in start and end times. Some evening and weekend availability will be required. 10-20 hours per week.

Location: 11769 40th Street SE, Calgary, Alberta.

Driver's License and Vehicle: Applicant must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Our warehouse is not easily accessible by transit, and our event locations may require you to drive company vehicles or your own.

A “Candy Slinger” is what we call our incredible support team at The Sugar Cube. The hands-on crew behind the scenes and on-site who help bring everything to life. A fun-loving candy enthusiast with a strong work ethic, great attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to getting things done, responsible for:

• Production & Order Preparation: Prepare and assemble orders quickly and accurately, ensuring all products meet our high-quality standards and production targets.
• Warehouse Operations: Receive and organize candy orders, lift and move inventory, and maintain organization using FIFO (first-in, first-out) systems.
• Warehouse Cleanliness & Maintenance: Support regular cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, taking out the garbage, breaking down cardboard, and light cleaning of shared spaces such as our sinks, kitchen area, and washroom, to keep the warehouse organized and running smoothly.
  
• Overall Team Support: Steps in where needed to keep production moving, proactively supports tasks, and communicates clearly with the team to maintain efficiency.
  
  

A Candy Slinger should be able to work quickly and efficiently while staying focused on accuracy and consistency. This hands-on part-time role involves performing various warehouse tasks in a fast-paced production environment, where staying organized, on task, and detail-oriented is key.

Responsibilities:

Warehouse production is fast-paced and hands-on. We’re looking for someone who stays focused, efficient, and consistent while working on their feet and keeping up with production flow.

Warehouse Production Support:

• Execute warehouse tasks efficiently and accurately with strong attention to detail.
• Work quickly and confidently through repetitive tasks while maintaining quality.
• Receive and organize candy orders, including lifting and moving heavier boxes.
• Maintain inventory organization using the FIFO (first-in, first-out) system.
• Follow established processes and contribute ideas to improve productivity.
• Work independently and efficiently, staying on task while producing high-quality products within a limited timeframe. 
• Track production timing and maintain awareness of order fulfillment pace.  
• Communicate progress, delays, or issues clearly and proactively with managers.
• Follow allergen protocols and custom order requirements carefully
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace (personal and shared)

Qualifications:

• A genuine passion for candy and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  
• Reliable and punctual, with a flexible schedule and evening and mandatory weekend availability.
  
• You must have access to a vehicle or reliable transportation, as the warehouse location is not easily accessible via transit.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality in a fast-paced, repetitive environment.
• Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and performing physical tasks.
• Ability to follow established processes while staying adaptable and open to improvement.
• Comfortable working independently and staying on task without constant supervision.
• Clear communicator who can keep the team informed on progress and any issues.
