A Sweet Celebration of Colour, Community, and Connection

A Sweet Celebration of Colour, Community, and Connection

A Conference Built on Connection, Wrapped in Colour

When your event logo is already this vibrant, the candy practically picks itself.

When the University of Calgary was preparing for the 2026 Together|Ensemble National Conference, they wanted an event treat that felt just as vibrant and welcoming as the conference itself. The result was a custom candy bag packed with colour, personality, and a whole lot of brand alignment.

As longtime collaborators with the University of Calgary, it's always exciting to see their events come to life. Fun fact: our founder, Alyssa, is a UCalgary alumna, so projects like these always feel a little extra special.

The Challenge: Create a Giveaway That Felt Like the Event

The University of Calgary's Together|Ensemble conference already had a bold, colourful visual identity. The challenge was creating an event giveaway that felt connected to the conference branding while still being fun, memorable, and practical for attendees.

With attendees engaging over a two-day event, the giveaway needed to feel welcoming, energetic, and representative of the event's collaborative spirit.

The Sugar-Fueled Solution

We created custom Medium Candy Bags that mirrored the colourful energy of the Together|Ensemble conference from the moment attendees saw them.

  • Custom event sticker: A clean, simple sticker showcased the Together|Ensemble logo front and centre, allowing the colourful branding to take the spotlight.
  • Rainbow-inspired candy palette: Instead of focusing on one or two colours, we built a full-spectrum mix that reflected the vibrant colours found throughout the conference identity.
  • High-impact visual presentation: The variety of colours, shapes, and textures created an eye-catching giveaway that immediately stood out and invited people to take a closer look.
  • Conference-friendly format: Medium Candy Bags are easy to distribute and carry, and substantial enough to feel like a meaningful event takeaway.

Why It Works

  • Perfect brand alignment: The candy felt like an extension of the conference branding rather than a separate promotional item.
  • Instant visual impact: Bright colours naturally draw attention and create excitement around the giveaway.
  • Celebrates the event identity: Every detail reinforced the colourful, collaborative feel of Together|Ensemble.
  • Easy event execution: The format worked seamlessly for a large conference environment while still feeling thoughtful and personal.

The Takeaway

The University of Calgary's Together|Ensemble conference proves that sometimes the strongest event giveaways are the ones that fully embrace the event's visual identity.

By leaning into the colourful branding already established by the conference, these custom candy bags became more than a giveaway. They became part of the attendee experience itself.

✨ Steal This Look: Together|Ensemble's Rainbow Candy Bags

Want to create a branded giveaway that feels vibrant and memorable? Here's how UCalgary did it:

  • Start with your event branding: If your logo already features multiple colours, don't be afraid to embrace the entire palette.
  • Use colour as the hero: Let the candy reinforce the event's energy and personality before guests even read the sticker.
  • Keep the sticker simple: a clean sticker lets the candy mix become part of the visual experience.
  • Choose a format built for events: Medium Candy Bags are easy to hand out, transport, and enjoy throughout conferences, trade shows, and activations.
  • Build a mix with variety: Jumbo Swirl Gummy Bears in strawberry, lemon, orange, and grape, paired with classic sour gummy worms and sparkling sea mix gummies in apple, orange, strawberry, blueberry, and fruit punch, created a colourful assortment that perfectly echoed the Together|Ensemble branding.

From conferences and campus events to community celebrations and corporate activations, these candy bags prove that sometimes more colour really is more fun.
