As we near 10 years of The Sugar Cube, we’re doing a lot of reflecting and revisiting of our old projects. Not a lot surprises us these days, but we have stumbled upon a few "Aha!" moments over the years. We're going to let you in on one of the best ideas we’ve gotten from one of our clients. It’s a simple, but life changing concept that we think is complete genius!
They hosted their holiday party in February, not December!
Okay, you might think, why is this so life changing?
- People HATE booking a reservation on Valentine’s Day. The restaurants are always crowded and everything is priced at a premium. If you have great food, entertainment, and some sweets, it’s an easy date night out for your clients and their partners!
- There is less competition from competing engagements and vacations.
- Everyone is generally less stressed trying to finish off the year and more likely to say yes to an event in February than December!
In short, people are happier, and if you’re able to host a fun party, they’ll be more inclined (and available) to attend in February than in December! If you aren't hosting an event, it's still a great time to reach out to clients during a time that you won't be lost in the middle of end of year responsibilities or other commitments.
