How to Work With Your Space Instead of Competing With It

How to Work With Your Space Instead of Competing With It

Spring has officially sprung… sort of.

It’s the first day of spring and the International Day of Happiness, which feels like the perfect excuse to lean into dopamine decor, good vibes, and anything that feels like a little moment of joy.

And honestly, this candy buffet setup has exactly that energy.

We created this one for Baywest Homes in CreekView, and it’s been living in our heads ever since. Because if there was ever a candy table that understood the spring assignment, it’s this one.

The best part? The space already had a built-in statement piece.

Instead of trying to cover it up or compete with it, we leaned in. No backdrop, no overthinking, just letting the setting do its thing and building a farmers market-inspired candy spread around it. We used the wicker shade and hung flowers from invisible fishing line from the centre, creating a cascading flower arrangement.

Fresh colours, simple styling, and just enough detail to feel intentional without being overdone.

And it worked. Like, really worked.

It’s also a good reminder, especially when it comes to event planning, candy buffets, or even just decorating your space, that you don’t always need to start from scratch.

Sometimes the best setups come from using what’s already there and letting it shine.

Today feels like a good day to do more of that.

Keep it simple.
Find the fun.
Lean into what makes you happy.

Whether that’s planning a spring event, refreshing your space, or just grabbing a treat that feels like a tiny reset.

So tell us… What’s bringing you a little extra happiness today?
